Hi Nikki love the look of this sauce - but - I can't get Monteray Kack cheese here in the UK. Is there another cheese you'd suggest as a substitution? Sammie http://www.feastingisfun.com

Monterey Jack cheese melts creamy and doesn't get stringy and oily like cheddar, swiss... It's also pretty mellow tasting. You may want to try using all White American cheese...and maybe add additional jalapeños? (Not sure how spicy you're wanting). Hope this helps!

If you can get Fontina, it melts wonderfully, has a wonderful flavor. All White American cheese works, but you need to add water or milk to thin it down. :)

Get it sliced from the deli, not the pre-packaged stuff.

If you go to the deli you can get white american cheese.

This does look so yummy! I'm going to make this and add a can of tomatoes with green chiles just to give it an extra kick! I think everyone will love it. If you can't find Montery Jack cheese I would would use just regular grated cheddar or Colby cheese.

    Hi Nikki,
This recipe sounds AWESOME!! How thick are the slices of American Cheese? Do you use Land O Lakes or Boars Head?
    Thanks so much.

Could canned green chilies be substituted for the jalapeño's? Really hate chopping those......Lol.

DELICIOUS!!!! I made this tonight for the first time and it's so good, I'll definitely be making it again. Thank you for sharing it! This recipe makes a LOT, so if anyone is just making this as a dip for family I would suggest halving it.

Hi, I love your recipes, and I can't get enough of this Blanco sauce too. I am Canadian and I lived in the U.S.A. for 6 years, is to where I fell in love with it. Now that I'm back home in Canada I can't find this sauce in any Mexican restaurants here. So I thought I would make it myself now that I have your recipe, I can't wait to make it. My problem is what other cheese could I use in substitute for White American Cheddar. I can not find that cheese here, so could you tell me what would be as close as possible to White American Cheddar for the same great results & taste of this absolutely amazing sauce.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I can't get white american cheddar cheese here, what would be a good substitute without compromising the flavour to much but keeping it as close to the restaurant flavour we all love. I fell in love with this sauce, when I lived in the U.S.A for 6 years. Thanks for any idea's you can give me.
