The BEST Hot Fudge Sauce
A couple weeks ago I was visiting my parents house. My mom was going on and on about this chocolate sauce that my sister makes. She had me sample some and I was blown away. It is delicious on top of ice cream, fruit or basically anything you would like…even a spoon! Store any leftovers in the fridge and heat up as necessary!
I now ALWAYS have some on hand and ready made in my fridge! So you can thank my sister for this recipe! You are going to LOVE it!!!
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- ½ cup butter
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Add sugar, flour, cocoa, butter and evaporated milk to a medium to large saucepan and bring to a boil for 2 minutes, stirring consistently.
- After sauce as boiled for 2 minutes, remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Sauce will thicken as it cools.
This is so going on our list of things to do this summer! We are putting our ice cream maker into over drive and I think this will go perfect with what we create!
Hot fudge sauce is the very best! This sounds awesome and so easy! Yay!

I love making homemade hot fudge! It always blows the pants off storebought :)
I always love to keep a jar of this or that homemade stuff on hand, just in case--please thank your sister for this one ;) it sounds so easy!
Does this have to be stored in the fridge? And how long will it last? I can't wait to try it.

Wow, it has such little chocolate in it. I'm intrigued.
I have an amazing recipe too. Thanks for reminding me that I needed to make that. But this looks delish! Yum.
It looks scrumptious!! Went to make it tonight and the recipe doesn't say what size can of evaporated milk. Can you post that for us? Thanks!
This looks yummy and so much better than the stuff you can buy. Thanks to you, your mom and sister!
salted or unsalted butter?

I use salted
How many ounces evaporated milk? Recipe is vague. Also, how much will this make total?
Is the flour self rising or plain?

I use all purpose
I see a lot of people have asked about the size of the evaporated milk, but I do not see a reply. I have 2 sizes at my store, and want to get the right amount. If you could reply, that would be great. Thanks for the recipe!
I used the larger can of evaporated milk and it seemed to be the right call. However, it should really be whisked constantly, more than just stirring because mine is a little lumpy.
