This looks so delicious. If I didn't have JUST enough bacon in my fridge for tomorrow's breakfast, I'd make this right now!

This was delicious! I made it for a gathering on July 4th, and It disappeared quickly, leaving me no leftovers! I used a whole package of bacon (16oz.) because there is no such thing as too much bacon. I did find it a touch salty, so I will use reduced sodium bacon next time. I used low sodium broth, lite cream cheese, and a 2% cheese and thought the substitute didn't make a difference.

Made this today for a bridal shower. Oh. my. word. SO GOOD!!! I will definitely be making this again. I had to make one modification. I live outside the US in a third world country. No ranch dressing packets. But no worries. I've been making my own dry ranch seasoning for years. I just used it instead. Tastes wonderful!! Have another gathering this week. I know what I will be bringing!! ;-)

Get a short fatter French bread loaf or a short fat sourdough loaf and cut off top and hollow out. Put your mixture inside and cover in cheese. Place your bread chunks around the bread bowl and sprinkle with a touch of garlic salt or a little garlic butter and also cover with the cheddar. Bake in Oven as directed. Slide all onto a platter and Tahdah. Texas dip to die for
