“Son of a Peach” Donut-Gourdough’s Copycat

A couple weekends ago I had the pleaser of attending Blogher Food in Austin, Texas. It was an absolute blast! I got to hang out with tons of my food bloggin buddies and eat delicious food.

While in Austin, we visited this famous donut truck called “Gourdough’s“. Lets talk about these donuts. They truly are unlike ANYTHING I have ever seen. They are the ultimate donuts. A group of us food bloggers ordered a bunch between us and sampled almost everyone. We also attended a fun party thrown by Picmonkey one of the nights where several other versions of Gourdough’s famous doughnuts were served. A few of us bloggers divided out the donuts amongst us to make copycat versions so that we can attempt to share a bit of the goodness with all of you.

Here I am pictured with Sweet Basil and one of our good friends from Pillsbury in front of the Gourdough’s truck. I actually used a Pillsbury product to make these donuts! Who doesn’t love a good short cut, right?!

The Gourdough’s donut I am sharing with you today is called, “Son of a Peach.” Aren’t the names just awesome?! According to Gourdough’s, “Son of a Peach” is made with “Peach filling, cinnamon, sugar & cake mix”… hard to go wrong, am I right?!

Here is the donut that I ordered at Gourdough’s back in Austin….

And here are my version of their donuts I made at home….
