Broccoli Cauliflower Salad
One of my favorite salads on the blog is the Broccoli Craisin Salad. This recipe is extremely similar and actually is a family recipe of mine as well. However, there are some ingredient changes to that other recipe that change up the flavor and make it its own identity.
The vegetables provide a crisp and fresh bite and the insanely delicious dressing coats everything in perfection. Trust me on this one, this is one salad you are going to want to try! Bonus, it has bacon. And we all know, everything is better with bacon :)

This is the perfect picnic salad and so much healthier than a pasta salad! Love this recipe!
Mary @chattavore
Broccoli salad is one of my very favorite side dishes. I used to make it often with cauliflower too, but haven't done that in a long time. This is a little different and I'm going to have to make it soon!
Liz
A lovey salad. Thanks Nikki and have a great weekend!
Naomi
I assume that the broccoli, cauliflower and peas are all cooked before serving?!
Chef in Training

I cut mayo to 1 cup and still turned out great.
David Cooper

Chef in Training
the broccoli and cauliflower are just rinsed, patted dry and left raw and chopped up into bite sized pieces.
Karen Perez
This also great with a little horseradish for a little zing.
Angie
I love this recipe! I think I will make this for my mom's house for Easter Dinner, but I will add apples, grapes, and slivered almonds.
Angela
I made this salad 30 years ago! :-) I am so grateful for this post b/c I can't find my recipe. My recipe included raisins and sunflower seeds, too. Try that, too, for your mom! The flavor of bacon and raisins is delish!
Marianne
What type of vinegar? And should the pea's be thawed?
Terry
What would be calories for this dressing? How would you make the dressing lighter.?
Jami
I mixed a ranch packet with fat free Greek yogurt and used as dressing it was yummy!
Jennifer
Has anyone made this without the parmesan cheese? I want to make this for Easter but we have dairy allergies in the family.
Cathy
We did not use Parmesan, it was Great!
jackie
It's great even with out the parmesan cheese and I use miracle whip as don't like mayo it's still fabulous and I make it for all family get togethers everyone loves it
Cindy
Do you use shredded parmesan cheese or grated?
andrea daly
Have you ever swapped out the mayo for plain greek yogurt?
Shirley Petrillo
That is an awful lot of mayonnaise!
Cathy
i made this to take for my workweek lunches, only to find out that my husband ate more of it than I did! We loved it. Thanks for sharing your talents!!
Sher
Are we supposed to use shredded parmesan cheese or the more powdery grated cheese for this salad? Also, what type of onion did you use?
Chris Jamieson
cant wait to try this for a side at an Easter family meal!!
Felicia
Can plain Greek yogurt be substituted for the mayo? No one in my house eats mayo.
samantha
Can this be frozen, and thawed in the fridge? Broccoli and califlower are on sale, so I wanna stock up... It sounds wonderful. I can't wait to make it. I'm going to omit the peas and add cashews though.
Megan
How many servings does this make?
Elaine
Love this recipe! I made a few substitutions based on what I had on hand/preferences: substituted non-fat Greek yogurt for 1/2 the mayo, chopped chives from my garden for the onions (I don't care for raw onions, but love chives) and increased the broccoli and cauliflower to 3 cups each. So delicious! Thanks for sharing a great dish.
Nancy
Easter dinner guests all raved about the salad!
Cheryl
This wll be the second time I am making this salad. The first time I added a handful of raisins, this time I'm adding chopped dates and I always add a touch more vinegar b/c that is my preference, but it is awesome just as written. I have a son who is 27 who hates vegetables, always has and he loves this salad. He can eat the whole bowl, thank you for a great, quick salad idea!
Misty
I'm assuming the flavor so get better if made ahead and sit in fridge?
cheri steckling
Wish that nutritional info was included on recipes. I am pre diabetic and need to know carbs and sugar and such. Sounds good.

Elouise Johnson
i will try this recipe . I enjoy easy salads as well as pasta will be looking for more
Teresa
I make something similar. I use broccoli, cauliflower, red onion,
green and black olives. The dressing is olive oil Mayo.
Adele
Thank you for this stunning recipe. So surprised that the men in my family loved it to!
Jennie Jonsson
Hello, Recipe doesn't say if the cauliflower and broccoli are slightly cooked or raw.
Chef in Training
raw. so sorry about the confusion
Tamara
I followed the directions exact and found the mayo mixture to be way too much dressing. All of my dinner guests agreed. Next time I will cut the mayo in half
pj
found this recipe on pinterest and realized I had all the ingredienst. Half hour later it was mixed up and it was dinner done. OH this is the best stuff ever. I alway like to see a actual review from someone who made it. I followed exact with what I had...sub apple cider vinegar and asiago cheese since that is more affordable than fresh grated parm. Someone slap me cause I cant stop eating this...thanks for sharing I needed a new salad recipe. OH PS dressing could be cut in half and still be good...I used full fat Dukes Mayo.
NB
I doubled this recipe to take to a party. Entirely too much mayo! I could have gotten away with doubling the veggies and bacon, and keeping the dressing amount as written.
Kitty Schlessinger
Looks delicious, but, since I'm a cook that needs everything spelled out for me, can you tell me what kind of vinegar please?
Chef in Training
i use white vinegar :)

If you exchanged low fat greek yogurt for mayo would you still include the sugar and vinegar?
Kathie May
i made this today...it is the best tasting broccoli and cauliflower salad I have ever had! The dressing is so easy to assemble..I did add a teaspoon or so of fresh lemon juice ...but other than that I followed your recipe to the letter! Thank you so much . I know it will be a recipe I use quite often!
Shae
Can I make this the night before and put it in fridge? If so do I add the dressing mix or wait until serving?
Josée L
It's almost the same recepie that we make in New Brunswick for us it's not new. But it's very very good
Susan
Are there any gluten free mayonnaise brands that are also soy free?
Charlene Dawn
This sounds delicious! But, could you come up with a light version of the dressing.
I be it would be good even then!! Thanks!
Carly
This salad is so yummy!!! Made it this morning to eat at dinner. I'm sure after sitting it will be even better. Thank you for sharing. ? I did make changes based on my needs. As a diabetic I don't need added sugar so cut it out. Also eliminated the extra salt due to saltiness from bacon.
Billie Townsend
Is it grated parmesan in the box or fresh in the cheese section? Sounds so goodw
Lisa Moreau
Looks "awesome" and will make, but not with 1 1/2 cups of bacon(not healthy). Maybe 1/4 cup would be good and some plain greek yogurt to replace some of the mayo.
I am going to make.
Grace
I would suggest you try it without adding the sugar and I think you wont even miss it. Everyone eats way too much sugar!
Janette
I'm not sure why i never thought to put cauliflower in a broccoli salad! Genius! Thanks for sharing!
Millie
Use cauliflower, broccoli, craisans, graded sharp cheddar cheese, bacon. Just make a cole slaw dressing with apple cider vinegar. Everyone loves it and it looks bright and cheery. Will have to try adding fresh peas.
Mary
The flavors in this salad are good but there's way too much dressing for the amount of vegetables. The veggies are just swimming in dressing. I added in more broccoli and cauliflower and ended up doubling the amounts of both. It's good now. But the recipe definitely needed tweeking.
Betty Mirich
How many people does this salad serve.. I need to ma key enough for 10 people
Karla
This looks wonderfully fresh.
Stefanie
Didn't know what to do with left over broccoli and cauliflower and came across this....I tried it and it was Delish!! I didn't have peas but it was great without.
Susie
So very yummy, I always make the broccoli salad never thought of putting in cauliflower. Thanks for the recipe.
Nick Scheessele
If possible do you have the nutritional numbers on this salad, which is very good.
Dana
Made this slalad today (day before Thanksgiving) and it looks delicious! Super simple, y’all! I read all the comments and MAN, bless your little hearts! This isn’t physics, y’all, this is cooking! Bacon? Use 3-4-5 strips. However many you want. Can you substitute? Well of course! Nothing says you can’t! Can you make night before? Sure! Do you make Cole slaw the night before? Common sense people! Thank you for this delicious recipe and happy Cooking, everyone! Be adventurous! Try something new and remember, substitute to your taste!
