Stir yeast, warm milk, oil, salt and sugar together and let stand 5 minutes to get the yeast activated.
Mix in remaining ingredients and add as much flour as needed for soft dough.
Knead 10 minutes.
Cover and let rise until dough has doubled in size.
Mix down.
Put on floured board and let rise an additional 10 minutes.
Roll 18 in x 10 in rectangle and about 1.5 inches thick.
Cut in half (9 in x 10 in).
Cut into 1/2 inch strips.
Tie each strip into a knot.
Rise on greased cookie sheet for about 45 minutes.
Bake at 400 F for 12 minutes.
