Snickerdoodles

I Love snickerdoodles!!!They are the right balance of sweet and tart!I got this recipe from my Grandma’s cookbook.

 

SNICKERDOODLES

1 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 Tablespoons sugar

2 Tablespoons cinnamon

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar and mix together well.
Add eggs and mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Combine dry ingredients well.
Add to wet ingredients.
Roll into 1 inch balls.
Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
Roll dough balls in cinnamon sugar to coat.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes until edges become lightly browned but cookies are still soft.
