Whole Wheat Bread (our family recipe)

This Whole Wheat Bread is the best I have tried! My whole family loves it!
  • 6 cups very warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. dough conditioner
  • 4 Tbsp. yeast
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • ½ cup gluten
  • 10-12 cups whole wheat flour
  1. Dissolve yeast and dough conditioner in water.
  2. Add oil, salt, honey, and half of the flour.
  3. Add gluten and the rest of the flour until mixture cleans the sides of the bowl.
  4. Knead 10 minutes.
  5. Shape into loaves and place in greased bread plans.  Let rise for 30 minutes. (until it reaches 1-2 inches above the top of bread pan)
  6. Turn oven to 350 degrees F and bake 30 minutes.
  7. Immediately take out bread and place on a cooling rack. Rub the tops with butter.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into the bread.
