Dad's Hearty Smokey Steak Chili |

My Dad's Hearty Smokey Steak Chili is not your average bowl of chili! With steak cooked to perfection on a smoker (can be grilled if desired) it is hearty and packed with a delicious smokey flavor!
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound tri tip steak, or New York strip steak
- 15 ounce can red kidney beans, drained
- 15 ounce can black beans, drained
- 15 ounce can white beans, drained
- 15 ounce tomato sauce
- 1 bottle Catalina fat free dressing
- ¼ cup chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Season steak with salt and pepper and rub into meat.
- Grill steak on the barbeque or smoke in your wood pellet grill to medium well. Let steak rest for 10 minutes, and then cut into bite size pieces.
- In a large pot, cook ground beef and drain.
- Add kidney beans, black beans, white beans, tomato sauce, Catalina dressing, chili power, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, and steak.
- Taste and add more chili powder and salt to your liking.
- Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes.
