Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • ¾ to 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baaking powder and salt. Cut in butter with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Slowly add ¾ cup buttermilk and mix just until it forms a ball. DO NOT OVERMIX! Add more buttermilk if necessary. (Depending on your elevation the amount of buttermilk may vary.) Roll dough ½" thick on a floured board and use a biscuit cutter to make about 10 biscuits.
  3. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown. When done, remove from oven and brush the tops of biscuits with melted butter.
