Duncan Hines Trip

As many of you who follow me on instagram saw, I recently had the privilege of visiting the Duncan Hines test kitchen.

This trip was such a neat experience for me. I have long since loved the Duncan Hines brand and was thrilled to be apart of their “Sweet Stars” event. Duncan Hines conducted a recipe contest and selected several winners who received the exciting opportunity to come on this trip. My blogging buddy, Jocelyn from Inside Brucrew Life, was one of those TALENTED winners. She made the most incredible Neapolitan Fudge! It was spectacular! Here are all the winners pictured with their winning desserts.

A Special thanks to Duncan Hines for some of the photos in this post.

The first night we arrived, Duncan Hines held and incredibly delicious dinner. For dessert, we had the privilege of sampling ALL of the winners delicious and unique treats. I couldn’t even pick a favorite they were all so stinkin good!

I am on of the Duncan Hines Passionate Bloggers. As you may remember, I hosted a giveaway on my site for one lucky reader to attend this trip with me :) Averie was the winner of my contest and I was so thrilled to meet her in person!

I also got to reconnect with some old friends. Pictured here is Ashton from Something Swanky and Dorothy from Crazy for Crust. These two girls are an absolute blast! I’m pretty sure we stayed up way later than I ever have since having kids. It was so worth it though. I love bouncing ideas off of other bloggers.

The next day, our bus pulled up to this DARLING red carpet walk for all the “Sweet Stars.” Each person had a star waiting for them upon arrival. I was blow away by how much thought, time and effort Duncan Hines put into this Sweet Stars event.

Next, we received a fun tour of the Duncan Hines headquarters. After the tour, Chef Joe put on an amazing presentation filled with recipes that think “outside the cake box”, along with some awesome tips and tricks for taking recipes to the next level. ALL of his recipes were beyond delicious and I can’t wait to share a couple with you in the coming weeks. Not only did Chef Joe create yummy recipes for all the sweet stars, but his personality and charisma kept us all thoroughly entertained.

We sampled SO many mouth watering desserts, but I would have to say, of all the desserts I sampled that weekend, the Baked Alaska was my favorite! It was BEYOND yummy and pretty sure I “wolfed” down way more than I should have! :)

This event was so much fun. I left loving Duncan Hines so much more, if that was even possible. They really made us feel so important as their consumers.
THANK YOU so much Duncan Hines for including me on this amazing trip!

What a great recap of the trip, Nikki! I was thrilled to be there and finally meet you as well! Thanks for the shoutouts in this post and loved looking at these pics - brings back fun memories (that now feel like way too long ago!) And I will say that Jocelyn's Neo Fudge was probably my fave thing I ate the entire weekend. Loved it :) You got some great shots of that Baked Alaska and what a wonderful recap! xoxo
