Do you think the recipe would work with no bake noodles?

    1. Melisas

      5

I used the no bake noodles and it turned out fine!!

    2. Georgeiana

      It absolutely does!

    3. M

I think it would work w/no bake noodles. Used them in lasagna bolognase, Only tip would be pre soften them by pouring hot water over the noodles (in a pan) and let them steep for 6-8 Mins, use a little oil so they don't stick.. It works super.. This recipe sounds amaze balls.. will be trying it :) Thanks.

    4. Rhonda

      5

I made this yesterday and used the no-cook noodles..This was so good. I added onions to half it for my parents.

  2. Sam

Have you ever tried freezing this?

  3. Deborah

    5

I'm trying this tonight looks great

  4. Vicky

I've seen so many variations for the classic chicken cordon bleu recently, and this looks like a winner too. About how much ham did you buy? And did you buy it in a thick chunk? Thanks.

    Vicky

  5. Liz

have you tried freezing it and then cooking? (Chicken Cordon Bleu Lasagna)

  6. Barb

    Hey Nikki!
I just finished assembling the lasagna... and realized I still have the grated Swiss!!
I double checked the recipe, but don't see where it's called for. In the sauce?? Layered on?? Just on top?? Please help! (At this point, I'm just going to melt some on top and hope it works). Thanks.

    1. Chef in Training

I am so sorry you ran into trouble. You layer 1/3 of the cheese, so 1 cup, per layer. I hope that makes sense! Again so sorry for the confusion!

  7. Shmabrina Shmen

Why is there so much chicken in "chicken cordon bleu lasagna?" This is highly upsetting for fellow vegans such as myself. Chickens are friends not food.

    1. Donna

      5

Really Shmabrina? The noodles have eggs from a chicken, the chicken is a given, the bacon and ham comes from the pig, and the cheese, butter and milk comes from a cow?! You're on the wrong site

    2. Dana

      Go Donna!

    3. Patricia

Why is there chicken in chicken cordon blue? Why is there chocolate in chocolate ice cream? Why is there bacon in a BLT? Really, you should think about what you asked. It's kind of funny. ?

    4. Lorraine

      Get over it. Why comment

    5. roleen sheehan

With all due respect, if you are a vegan, don't eat it. I have vegan relatives and make appropriate food for them. Chicken lovers don't have to be singled out.

  8. Jodi

Could you make this into a freezer meal???

    1. Joann

I was wondering that myself..Would be great for a freeze ahead meal..???

    2. Andrea

I also wondered if you could make this and put it in the freezer, however i’m New to freezer meals so how would you make sure it kept till ready to bake?

  9. Dan Leeder

    5

I'm glad the recipe calls for "chicken chicken" and not some imposter like "Spam chicken"! ?

    1. Chef in Training

haha! Thanks for catching that typo :D All fixed now!

  10. Mary

    Just made this..... Soon good.

  11. Michelle

This looks amazing! And a lot less work than stuffing and rolling chicken breasts. I have a problem, though. I hate Swiss cheese. Any ideas for a good alternative? Thanks!

    1. Jen

I would think provolone would be good too. But Swiss cheese mixed in a recipe with a rich sauce like this tastes completely different than Swiss itself. I would test them and see if they even realize it's Swiss.

    2. Vinita

I hate swiss cheese too but found one brand sold at the dollar tree store agreeable. Don't know if it's a pasteurized version or not but should work in this recipe. I'll be trying it myself to see if not, will try something else.

  12. Paula

My kids hate swiss cheese can I substitute another kind

  13. Kim McAdoo

Holy Moley, this looks so good. I have had one before but this with the sauce thickend looks so yummy. I will be giving this a try indeed. Just did not think of chicken and ham & bacon. I will add a couple more ingredients I know my family likes. Awesome, no cans of soup, done the right way.

  14. Ginny

Do you think this could be made in a Crock Pot????

  15. Sarah ruth

I only new the lasagna mixed with the red sauce, but even white sauce still works wow looks yummy, instead of bacon can i use chicken breast coz my kids don't lyk beacons?

  16. Terri

  18. Rhonda

Hi. I'm in Australia and I don't know what lasagna noodles are. Is it lasagne sheets? Please tell me what they look like.

  19. Paul

I enjoy many of your recipes, but I wish you had a "print" button included.

    1. Chef in Training

There is a print button in the upper right hand corner of the recipe card. Please let me know if you still are having trouble. Thank you!

    2. Doreen K

Paul, I find that when I view recipes on a laptop or desktop, I don't see a print button. But when I look from my iPad or iPhone, it's there. Crazy!

I made this and froze the rest and my husband can't get enough. It is fabulous and I will make it again. I highly recommend it.

  21. Jen

    5

Made this tonight for dinner. It was sooooo good! My 6 year old loved it. Thank you for the recipe I'm sure it will now be a regular request in my home.

  22. Audrey

Just pulled it out of the oven! Second time having this. I added panko to the top! My family loves it.

    1. Lu

      Love the panko idea!

  23. Velma

Just wanna say this is amazing! Made it for 1st time today & it's delicious! Will definitely make this regularly. Thanks for sharing xx

  24. Pam

I made this last night and it was beautiful will deffo be making it again , it was a big hit ?

  25. Teresa

I get confused when receipes call for flour and it doesn't specify all purpose or plain. Which one do you use in this?

    1. Chef in Training

I always use all purpose unless specified otherwise. Sorry for any confusion :) Please let me know if you have any more questions

  26. Crystal Harshbarger

    1

I made this last weekend for my husband. NOT a hit. This was so salty it could have given a moose a heart attack.
Butter has salt. Cheese has salt. Bacon and ham have salt. Not to mention the regular salt and garlic salt that this called for. It was awful. That's not even to mention how rich it was with TWO tubs of cream cheese. I managed to "save it" the following night by adding ANOTHER 4 cups of chicken along with some tomato sauce, but then it was entirely too much food even for our family of 6.
I've made a lot of recipes from this page and they turned out amazing, but I have to say that I was really disappointed with this one, especially considering that it cost almost $20 for all of the ingredients it eventually cost me.

    1. Mary L

Always use unsalted butter for cooking and baking. Recipe calls for garlic powder, NOT garlic salt. Use high quality ham and bacon to avoid the saltiness issue.

  27. Melissa

    5

I have never left a comment about a recipe that I have tried off of a site........But let me say this was absolutely delicious!! Everyone in my family loved it and I only had a tiny bit left over from a big casserole dish. Thank you for a great recipe! :)

  28. Ashley

    How many does this feed?

  29. Steph

Do you cover it with foil when you bake it???

    5

My birthday is September 19th. And I think I just found my birthday dinner meal!! My sister & I are drooling over the recipe. Can't wait to try it!

    1. Tracy

Happy Belated Birthday fellow 9/19th! Chicken Cordon Bleu is my signature dish. If I'm asked to cook dinner, 9 times out of 10, that's what they want. Next time, I'm going to pull a switch on them and make it in lasagna form!

  31. Kathryn

Awesome recipe but I need to reduce calories and fat content, suggestions please short of non-fat cheese. Thanks, love your recipes.

    1. Julie

I always use Greek yogurt cream cheese to lighten things up, & I can't tell a difference. I used a little less butter in this recipe, too, & went lighter on the cheese when I was sprinkling it on, & we LOVED this dish!

  32. Sheena

    5

Thank you for sharing this recipe, it looks so delicious and I really look forward to trying this, I live in the UK and don't know what 'Noodles' are though ~ is it the same as the sheets that you would use for a traditional beef lasagne?

  33. Dana

In my oven right now! I halfed the recipe. Do I dare ask, how many calories?!

  34. Stacy

    5

I made this last night and it was a huge hit! -- I did change a few things. I used fresh minced garlic and omitted the garlic salt. I'm also not a huge fan of Swiss cheese so I used half Swiss and half mozzarella. Lastly, I topped the dish with crushed fried onions and buttered bread crumbs. It was perfect. Thanks so much!

  35. Sheri

Could you just cut out the cream cheese all together and just add the Swiss to the milk to make a cheese sauce (and possibly some parmigiana reggianno too).. it looks great, I just find that's a lot of cream cheese.

  36. Marie O

    5

I've made this with gluten free lasagna noodles and flour as my husband has a gluten allergy - my family loved it!! So delicious!

  38. Lynn

I am thinking about making this for a church youth group. About how many does it feed? Also I think I will use mozzarella cheese instead of Swiss.

  39. Pamela

I would love if you can do videos, is it possible?

  40. Stacey

    5

This was dinner last night & was a BIG hit!

  41. Julie

I made this for the first time last night, & it's going into our normal rotation. SO GOOD! My husband was like, "OMG each bite just keeps getting better!" We both went back for seconds. My daughter, who is the pickiest eater alive, even liked it. :)

  42. Corrie

This dish gave me great joy preparing it. It's currently in the oven and look forward to trying it.

  43. Wendy

This was wonderful, I will be making a lot more. Thank you for a great recipe. I did not have enough Swiss so I mixed it with mozzarella.

  44. Nick

How many servings does it make

  45. Tamara

Has anyone used gluten free noodles? I'm making it for company that is gluten free wondered if it would substitute well?

  46. Michelle @ Modern Acupuncture

Words cannot describe how excited I am to try this. Your pictures are gorgeous and this looks so cheesy and delicious that I'm suddenly starving for dinner and it's only 9am!

  47. Noora

Can this be prepared the night before? Or does it have to be same day?

  48. Gayle Goedhart

This was a delicious dish, I didn't use no bake lasagne noodles, so I cooked them per box, also added 1 onion chopped an 8 oz. of mini-Bella mushrooms, sautéed, and added some with each layer

  49. Venecia castillo

I like to receibed a good recepies of bread and more

  50. Jennifer

    Bake covered or uncovered?

  51. Tracy Rogers

    5

Made this a few times I realize I need a bigger kitchen and my 7 year old son is a big help to pull the bacon to pieces I love this recipe the only problem is I eat the fixins while I'm cooking thanks for the recipe a great recipe for any occasion

  52. Hannah

    5

    SO GOOD.. SO CREAMY.. 10/10

  53. Ciara

Mast this today and it's absolutely amazing!! I didn't use as much cream cheese as it said to, but I still think it turned out great! This will be one I make more than once! Mine was a little runny tho...but that's ok!

  54. Jacqueline Lynch

I want to make this for my family but not sure if i should double the recipe ? How many servings does this make??

  55. Allison

    3

I made this recipe exactly as the recipe called for. It reminds me of tuna noodle casserole only with chicken.

  56. Judy Gade

Can this be made as a freezer me

  57. Theresa

OMG. I just found your recipe. Sounds divine! Can't wait to try it.

  58. Motheroftheyear

Just made this tonight!! AMAZING is all I can say!! :-)

  59. Anne Marie

A BIG HIT at my garden club luncheon !!! Have never received so many compliments and so many requests for the recipe.. Such a delicious blending of flavors. Doubled recipe. Each 13x9 served 12. Did not have garlic salt, so just doubled garlic powder, salt and white pepper. Sprinkled bit of chopped chives on top for color and a little extra cheese. Assembled 24 hrs in advance, refrigerated, and brought to room temperature 1 1/2 hrs before baking. Loosely tented with foil. Will definitely make again, may try no-bake lasagna next time .

  60. Rosemary

Would be nice to know how many servings are in this meal

    1. Carrie

      5

I'm wondering the same. Servings per recipe, please??

  61. Megnut

    5

Just got done making. Looks very yummy! Can't wait to try!

  62. Samantha

In the oven as I type....?.

  63. Irene

I'm going to make this but I need to know how many should I make for 30 persons

  64. Krystin

I was a little hesitant with the cheese sauce. Tasted too thick and the garlic was just a tad overwhelming. But when I put it all together and baked it, it came out perfect! Everything complimented each other and the closeness to actual chicken cordon bleu was amazing! With two kids who hate red sauce, this was a lasagna hit!

  65. Jenn

    4

Could you add spinach to this recipe without ruining it? If so, how much should be used?

  66. Ruth

Can you prepare this lasagne ahead and bake it later in the day?

  67. Ruth

Can this recipe be prepared ahead of time in the morning and baked in the oven later the same day?

  68. Heather

Made this last night. It was delicious. I ended up adding more milk to the sauce as I thickened it too much! I will definitely make it again.

  69. Cindy

Used no bake noodles- might have been the brand, but they turned out awful! Take the time to use regular boiled noodles. Had a lot of oil because of all the cheese. Used a paper towel to soak
it up. As far as taste- it was OK, not sure if I'll make it again

  70. Nicole

Has anyone added any veggies to it like a California blend of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower?
I think this looks amazing and will be trying it this coming week!

  71. Randy

Can this be made ahead of time?

  72. Jo

    5

I'm a lazy cheater...had to come up with something quick for 40 kids. I forgot to cook the noodles, used jars of Alfredo sauce, sliced Swiss cheese, and deli ham slices. It was amazing! Can't wait to make it the right way. :)

  73. Debi

    5

Great recipe. Everything went well. Taking it to our ladies luncheon at work for Christmas. Can't believe I have to wait till tomorrow to taste it. Wish me luck!

  74. Liz

Has anyone tried it with zucchini as the @noodles”.. trying to cuts down on carbs

    1. Tracy

I make lasagna with zucchini & summer squash "noodles" made on a mandolin all the time. I think this would be amazing with summer squash noodles!

  75. Shelly

Could this be made a day ahead and kept in the fridge? Would that change the baking time?

  76. Cindy

I’m making this right now for the first time. It smells so good! I can’t wait to see if my husband and grandkids give it a thumbs up.

  77. Carol

    You topped with Parsley??

  78. Kim

Can't wait to make this. How many people does this serve?

  79. Deb Sanger

    3

the sauce just seemed way too rich so i cut one layer of it with tomato sauce. will use the rest for mac n cheese. nicely "meated" !

  80. Barbara Lowrance

Can you assemble this dish the day before you cook it?

  81. Connie Bastien

Do you think I could shrimp in the recipe instead of chicken.

  82. JHarris

Going to try for a luncheon.

  83. jill schilling

Is this meal one that freezes well? Trying to make stuff ahead that freeze very well. Thanks.

Making this for Dinner tonight!!!! So far I love everything about this meal. The cheese sauce is amazing. Surprising the hubby since his favorite meal is cordon blue and mines pasta so best of both worlds. Thank you for posting recipe.

  86. Carrie

Hello! I made a half portion of your recipe and loved it. Really delicious! I don't see where you state how many your recipe would normally feed. Can you provide this? I'm making it for school staff lunch and need to feed 70 persons so I need to do the math. Thank you1

  87. Malia

So good!! Family loved this recipe. Thank you!! We used gluten free noodles and cooked about 10-15 min longer.

  88. Amand B

Would u b able to prep. The day b4 and bake the next day

  89. Jenna

HI ! :) How many servings does this make?

  90. Kim Lippy

    How many servings?

  91. Ford

No place to post a picture of my copy of this dish which is a shame because it looked great! I made this gluten-free for a friend on mine. GF noodles are never as tender, of course, and the GF flour was no problem. There is a hell of a lot of meat in this dish! The flavors are balanced well though I’d did add a little less bacon and ham (1/4 each less). Thanks for sharing this innovative recipe.

  92. MARY E MAHEY

How many servings from this recipe?

  93. Karla

    5

This is a family favorite, just printed out 4 copies of the recipe after heating up my lunch today at work. I rarely fallow recipes as they are written but this one did not need to be tweaked :)

  94. Melissa

Can you assemble this a day ahead and bake off the next day?

  95. Holly

Can you make this a couple hours ahead and leave it sit on the counter till baking time. I am making this for Xmas eve and I would like to prepare the lasagna ahead of time before everyone gets to my house. I am wondering how this will affect the noodles. Feedback, thoughts

  96. Brandy

    5

Oh my goodness, tonight I made this and needless to say there’s none left. ♥️ Even my super picky eater decided to get 2 helpings.. which she NEVER does.. thank you for an awesome recipe that I will continue to use again!

  97. Carrie

    5

This dish is absolutely delicious and decadent! I did two layers, and used oven ready noodles. I added some sauce to the bottom before placing the first layer of noodles to the pan to ensure the noodles would cook/soften. I will be trying the Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake version too!

  98. Juanita Janssen-Timmen

    5

I made this and it is now a family favorite! The kids could not stop talking about how yummy it was! I had several parents request the recipe...so it is getting passed along :) Thank you for sharing!

  99. Sierra

    5

I made this dish and froze it, whole. What is the cooking time/instructions when it is frozen?

  100. Terri de Peyrecave

    5

This has to be the yummiest, creamiest most decadent meal I have ever tried. I could eat it for dessert and not feel cheated. I won't say it was quick to put together...I fried the bacon, boiled the chicken and fried the ham the day before, which was a huge help. Next time I will try NOT cooking the pasta ahead of time, because I clearly have some sort of handicap that prevents me from prying cooked lasagna noodles apart. If anybody has tried using uncooked noodles with this recipe, please let me know. Anyway, it all came together nicely and was utterly delicious!!

  101. LJ

    5

**warning there are some substitutions** Crock Pot!! I halved the recipe. Using what I had- I used egg noodles. I poured hot water over them & let it sit for abt 5-7 min to start the cooking. I added green onion to the cheese sauce. And I used swiss cheese slices as that cheese layer, and Canadian bacon as my ham layer, when layering in the crock pot. Cook on High for 2-3 hours. Or Low 4-5 hours. I did make sure the bacon was the last layer on top to seal in the moisture with the cheese sauce. The family loved it!

  102. LJ

Correction on my crock pot version: 2 hrs on High, 3 hrs on Low

  103. Brody B.

    5

This was simply amazing! Will definitely be making this again.

  104. LORI GLENN

This looks fabulous but wondering if I could sub the swiss cheese with something else...not real fond of swiss.

  105. Tanya

    5

I love your recipe, making it again for about the fourth time and it's always a hit, I share it with a friend and her family and my partner, never anything left on the plate!

  106. Lyndi Creighton

    3

I made this tonight.. chicken cordon bleu is one of my absolute Gaborone dishes. So I thought for sure I'd love this. I was sadly underwhelmed by this. I thought the sauce was very bland. I will try it again though but definitely needs a lot more spices/seasonings in the sauce. It honestly just tasted like thickened cream.

  107. Laura

I made this recipe over the Christmas holiday. Delicious! I followed the directions exactly - except I added a layer of sautéed spinach, mushrooms and peas. My family loved it.

  108. Bryn

Hi! This recipe sounds great. If your family doesn’t like ham, what would you substitute? Or would you just leave it out!

    1. Chef in Training

You can totally just leave it out! (we've got some non-ham-lovers in our family too!)

  109. Audra

    5

    YES, I loved this lasagna!!

  110. Terry Mastandrea

    5

Just made this… omggggg… insanely DELICIOUS!!!! I also chopped and browned a large onion and layered it on top each 1/3 layer of the bacon. It made a huge difference as I could taste the sweet browned onion as well as all the other flavors. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
Thank you and keep these AWESOMEEEEE recipes coming❣️
I also wanted to add it is NOT salty as someone else eluded in their comments. I read through approximately 15-20 comments before I make a recipe of this magnitude and this is an ABSOLUTE WINNER!! ❤️❤️❤️

  111. Vicki

    5

Loved this as a way to use some of the leftover Easter ham! I significantly cut the amount of bacon called for - one family member is not a huge bacon fan (how are we even still married?!). I would definitely use 12 noodles next time. I had a ton of sauce leftover. I assembled the lasagna in the morning so the first person home could bring it to close to room temp and put it in the oven for me. Turned out perfectly.
