Dinner time has been a struggle lately at my house. Why you ask? It is because I am SO tired. I tell you what, being pregnant at my age is A LOT different that being pregnant with my first 8 years ago. I am tired. all. the. time. I go to bed at about 10 pm and wake up at 7 or 8 am and most days I actually take a nap. That may be embarrassing to admit but its the truth. I don’t remember being this tired with any of my others. Between caring for 3 busy kids (and one of those three kids being an almost-3-year-old), extra curricular activities, and being halfway done with my pregnancy, I am constantly on my toes. It’s no wonder when I finally get some down time, I sleep.

Maybe now you know why dinner has been s-t-ruggling on my to do list. I need it to be fast, tasty and easy. This meal is not only all of those things, but it was a hit with my whole family!

Let me just tell you about this sauce. I ate it by the spoonful. I’m not even joking. I poured it over anything I thought it could compliment. It totally makes this whole dish and will honestly be one of the best things you ever try!

This meal will definitely be one I will make again and again! Trust me, put this on the must try list. You will be so glad you did!

Recipe type: Dinner
Ingredients
  • 4 pounds pork tenderloin
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ¾ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic. minced
  • 2 teaspoons sage
Balsamic glaze
  • 1¼ cups brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch, plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 Tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl combine salt, pepper, garlic, and sage to make a paste.
  2. Rub this mixture all over the tenderloin.
  3. In a very large skillet, heat ¼ cup olive oil to medium high heat and place the tenderlion in the skillet. (If my tenderlion is too long, I will cut it in half.)
  4. Brown each side for 2 minutes. (I do four sides, rolling the tenderloin)
  5. Spray the bottom and sides of the slow cooker with vegetable spray and place tenderloin inside.
  6. Cook tenderloin on high for four hours.
An hour before the tenderloin is done cooking make the glaze.
  1. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, balsamic vinegar, water and soy sauce. Heat over medium heat for about 4 minutes until sauce thickens.
  2. When the tenderloin is cooked, remove from heat and place on a serving platter.
  3. Slice tenderloin in your desired thickness.
  4. Spoon the glaze over the top. I place the remaining glaze on the table in a serving dish for those who would like extra. (Believe me it is so good, you will want to drown your pork in it.)

Made this for dinner tonight. I skipped the sage because I didn't have it and added a sliced onion to the pork. It was amazing! The whole family loved it. The sauce is to die for! Thank you so much for the awesome recipe!

Nikki, the pork tenderloin looks tasty. I like the colour from the balsamic vinegar.

Too sweet for my taste. I would try again with much less brown sugar. The pork was excellent.

This was delicious! My kindergartener asked if we could eat it every night, and then he requested more of the glaze for dessert. #truestory . I swapped the sage for rosemary since that's what I had on hand, and truly, it was delectable. Thanks for this recipe!

Made this for New Years. I am so deliriously happy with it! The pork was nice & tender, in fact it fell apart as I took it out of the crock pot. Paired with some gorgeous roasted Brussels sprouts, baby carrots & potatoes for an outstanding meal! Fun Fact: I didn’t have any soy sauce left for the balsamic glaze, so I added some Vegemite given to me by an Aussie friend. Delicious!

Delicious! Although, my pork loin was dry. I need to add a liquid to my Crock-Pot, but I don't know what. Also, the sauce was really sweet. Other than that, I'll keep making it & tweaking it to my liking.

What is the green herb in photo?
    No mention in recipe

Is this recipe made with pork tenderloin or a pork loin roast? You say tenderloin in the recipe, but the picture and your directions make it sound like the larger, thicker pork loin roast.

What do you do with the glaze during the last hour that the pork is cooking?
Cover, sit at room temp, frig it?

This looks amazing and the comments just affirm. My husband is in a low sodium diet and I noticed a lot of salt. How much less can I use and still retain this incredible taste. Thanks
