I'm confused, there are no marshmallows listed in the ingredients? They look delicious though. I've got all the ingredients if you could update with how many marshmallows.

I am so sorry about that! It is one 10 ounce bag and it is updated to say that now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

You left the marshmallows out of the ingredient list.

Can you use marshmallow creme in place of the marshmallows?

What type of popcorn is recommended? We no longer have our popcorn popper, so the only option is microwave. I am guessing the movie theater type (extra buttery) would not taste the best with this? But wanted to check to see if you had any recommendations?

    1. Chef in Training

I use plain popcorn. No added flavor :)

My grandmother used to make these but added a little food coloring then formed the balls around tootsie pop suckers so that you had a handle on your popcorn ball. All of my school mates waited every year for my birthday because they knew these would be coming!

After putting all ingredients in saucepan, and melting it you say take off and pour over the popcorn.. don't you have too let it come to a boil.. you don't mention anything about that..
I made some, and had to bring it to a boil... Did you leave that out or is how you do it... just asking

How long do these last? Will they get mushy if I send them to family out of state?

  16. Mom

How long should the sugar and butter mixture cook? Or what temp?

Great recipe! Thank you for sharing! We made two flavors! Orange dreamcycle-using "frosting creations" powder stirred in with marshmallows and vanilla. We also made hot chocolate using cocoa powder, a tab more butter and a dash of cinnamon.
I used microwave movie theater popcorn. The extra butter and salt was a good offset to the sweetness!

  18. Isabella

On the instructions it does not say to put the stove too.

How many days ahead can I make them and use them in goodie bags? I'm hoping to make them 3 or 4 days ahead.

My popcorn balls won’t stick together! They just fall apart. Do taste good though I have put it in a bowl and mashed down waiting for it to cool off now to see if I can cut into squares.

These are excellent and easy to make. Stick together nice and have plenty of gooey stuff on them making them extra good. I add a package of jello for flavoring and color (orange for halloween).

Do you know if these freeze or refrigerate well? I'd like to make these for a baby shower, about a week ahead of time.
