Disneyland: A Multi-Day Vacation

As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently attended a Holiday Blogger event at Disneyland. Today, I want to tell you why I think Disneyland is a great multi-day vacation destination. My family couldn’t wait for this trip because, between the crazy working hours with my blog and my husband’s job, and after my husband’s month stay at the hospital and life-saving surgery this year, this vacation was much needed. We needed a few days to unwind and just have some fun.

Gone are the days where you could cram everything Disneyland park had to offer into just one day. With the expansion of the Disneyland park, it is impossible to see and do everything you would like to in a day. One thing we loved about the 3 day hopper passes, was that we were able to spread it out and enjoy our time there rather than feeling rushed. We could enjoy the details and festivities of the park instead of zooming past them because of time.

One thing I realized about experiencing Disneyland with a young child, is that waiting in lines to see their favorite characters is a must! Meeting the characters is part of what made my daughters first time at Disneyland so special. Right now we are in a “princess phase” of life. Ariel happens to be my daughter’s absolute favorite and seeing her almost brought my little girl to tears. Her autograph book was full by the end of our Disneyland vacation.

One of my biggest life-savers were the fast passes. It saved both me and my husband the headache and stresses of waiting in lines with our small child. It cuts wait time down tremendously and best of all they are FREE! They can be found near the rides themselves. I highly recommend to quickly get fast passes for the rides in Cars Land because the attractions are so new, the lines are a lot longer.

Cars land is fantastic… and Radiator Springs Racers is incredible! It is one of my new personal favorites! Some other rides my little girl especially enjoyed were the Dumbo Ride, Mermaid Ride and the Safari ride.

One of my favorite festivities is the “World of Color” that takes place at California Adventure at nighttime. It was so beautiful and my whole family thoroughly loved every second of it.

One thing I learned on this most recent vacation to Disneyland is that it is well worth your time and money to stay in a Disney hotel. There are perks and conveniences that come with staying in a Disney hotel that you can’t get in any other hotel. We stayed in the California Grand Hotel and LOVED it. The thing my husband and I loved most about staying at this gorgeous hotel, was that it offered access to California Adventure an hour earlier than when the park opens to the public. This perk is absolutely amazing because you can go experience Cars Land long before the crowds of the day arrive or any other rides you want to experience there for that matter. Another reason we loved this hotel was that it had access to both parks from the hotel. One path takes you out to Downtown Disney, only a couple minutes away from the gate entrance, and the other takes you right into California Adventure. The California Grand is so pretty. You walk in and you can tell right away that so much time and thought went into the hotel. I took a tour of the hotel and learned so much about the tiny details and some of the thought process on its unique and stunning design.

If you are interested or planning on going to Disneyland, look for special savings on 3-day park-hopper tickets and hotel packages HERE for visits in early 2013.

Disclosure: My family was provided 3-day hopper passes and stay at the California Grand to visit Disneyland for a Holiday Blogger event. All opinions, pictures and ideas expressed in this post are completely my own.

What a great perk in addition to all you do! This makes me so thankful I have my annual pass, although now a 3-day paid stay doesn't sound quite so shabby either :) thanks for sharing, as always~
