Crunch Bit Cookies

As a food blogger, you sometimes find yourself walking up and down the aisles of a grocery store and grabbing at anything that catches your eye.

“That might be good in a recipe…”

“I can definitely make a recipe out of this….”

“This would be such a delicious and fun add-in…”

Before you know it, your grocery cart is filled with delicious and random food items.  I think the people at the cash register think I am nuts! Sometimes, I catch them looking at me with a perplexed face as they see the WIDE variety of assorted items they are bagging up for me.  Occasionally, I will chime in with “I am a food blogger…” assuming they will understand why I have ump-teen calories worth of food on the conveyer belt.  Other times, I just smile and act like it is perfectly normal.

I tell you this because last week, the food items that caught my eye were all candy! haha! Did you know they have so many fun “bite sizes” of your favorite candy bars?! Gosh, it was like food blogger heaven looking at all my options.

I saw these Crunch bits and thought to myself, “How DELICIOUS would these be subbed in place of some chocolate chips?!”  I was right.  The great thing about these Crunch Bits… is that the chocolate doesn’t melt down when you bake them, leaving them all circle shaped with a tasty crunch!  These cookies were a smash hit with my family and neighbors and I know they will be for you as well!

Enjoy!

If you make this recipe, snap a photo and hashtag it #chefintraining and/or #chefintrainingblog. I would love to see how these recipes take shape in your kitchens.

I'm definitely going to have to try these--I loved Crunch bars as a kid and haven't had them since! And I totally laughed at the first half of your post trying to explain yourself. Even when I try, people STILL don't seem to understand what a 'food blogger' even is, much less that it justifies buying enough candy and cake mix to survive an apocalypse :)

Yum! Crunch bars are one of my favorite candy bars! And I totally had one of those food blogger moments at the farmers market this morning when I saw this really good sided patty pan squashes but no decent sized eggplant (that I went in search of to stuff). I kept going back and forth between the booth with the little eggplant and the booth with the nice sized patty pan squash trying to decide how I could alter my recipe and if I should.

I was in Target the other day and saw these too! I love that you grab stuff for fun new recipes too...that exactly how I shop:-) I always wonder what the cashiers are thinking when I check out, but I haven't been brave enough to volunteer why I buy so much baking stuff!! These cookies look and sound awesome!!

HAHA! I make my husband shop for me with a weird long list of randomness. (He works closer to the store than we live) Anyway, they look delish!
