Cake Batter French Toast

The cake batter craze continues… bear with me, I have a least one more in the the next short while coming your way.  I don’t know what it is about the cake batter flavor, but I am obsessed!  I bet you couldn’t tell right?…*rolling my eyes* :)

Well this one is a little different, and I loved it!  Who knew that cake batter could sweeten and brighten up so many already wonderful things?!  These would make for a fun birthday breakfast, or maybe an ordinary breakfast (if you are like me and searching for an excuse to whip these bad boys up just because!)

You could easily just use regular syrup with these, or go all out and make a glaze to top them with like I did!  Either way, they are delicious!

CAKE BATTER FRENCH TOAST

2-3 slices bread
2 eggs
3-5 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 cup yellow (or funfetti) cake mix, dry
sprinkles

Heat up up a skillet or griddle to medium heat and then spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and cake mix together until well combined. (you can add sprinkles to wet batter or sprinkle on top after the bread is already dipped)
Dip bread into batter on both sides.  Cook until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes) and then flip over and cook other side.
Top with syrup or a vanilla or cake batter glaze.

You can adapt this recipe to how many servings you want!
Enjoy!

Wonderful idea! I made Funfetti so much of everything, that I got sick of it! But it's always requested, so I make it!! It's amazing of all the fun things you can do with cake batter!

I love cake batter, too, but I struggle with using box mixes (not my favorite thing to do). I'd love to hear if you have a from-scratch cake batter flavor solution!

This was a great breakfast-for-dinner adventure! Maybe my bread is on the small side, because I got almost six pieces of french toast out of just one round of the egg mixture. Now we have extras for breakfast tomorrow!
