Orange Rolls

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving break hasn’t quite ended yet and I am loving every minute of it.  This was the first in 5 Thanksgivings that I have had the opportunity to spend it with my extended relatives.  Typically, my extended family gets together every year, but it has always been out of state and my little family can’t make it.  This year we got to go and every second has been wonderful. I love each of my relatives.  They are all such witty and funny people, that literally every second is a riot.

My husband left on travel last Monday and made it home just in time for Thanksgiving, only to have to leave again on travel early this last Monday morning.  He gets back home today and I can’t wait to go pick him up from the airport!  However, him being on travel has given me a little bit of extra time to hang out with my awesome family, so I can’t complain.  My mom is one of my best friends and being at home gives me such a warm and comforting feeling.

A highlight from this past holiday break would have to be Black Friday shopping!  I go every year and I get such a thrill from it! from 9:00 pm Thanksgiving until about 4 of 5 am the day after, I am out on the streets and in stores trying to get my hands on the greatest deals.  This year, I got to go with my one of my best friends growing up and it was SO much fun!  My best purchase of the night that had me smiling from ear to ear would have to be my new Kitchen Aid!  I am seriously so so excited!  I got it for a steal of a deal! Are you a Black Friday Shoppers?  What was your best purchase of the night?!

This recipe comes from my grandma’s cookbook and is a family favorite! My family has made these as far back as I can remember.  They remind me of my mom and grandma.  This is my mom’s favorite bread item.  Even the smell of them reminds me of her.  I hope you enjoy these as much as my family does!

These look super interesting, the dough looks incredibly soft and I love how the frosting is lathered on. Pinned!

Ok, I have to admit, my firt impression was, oh, another fried thing, but what a great surprise that it was baked. Of course I like fried thing but you know, we are near to Summer so I need to restrict the fat, just to not look so fat in the beach.

I'm excited to try these today! Growing up , my mom used to make an orange roll but she can't find the recipe anywhere. I'm hoping this is similar and can replace my craving for an orange roll. :) one question though....do u know aprox how long it takes to " double in size?" Couple hours? Overnight? Thanks!
