Soft Pretzels

I absolutely love pretzels!

Sweet or salty, they always taste delicious! I recently stumbled across this recipe from While He Was Napping and fell in love! They are pretty simple to make and my family gobbled them up! And who wouldn’t love that they are fat-free?! The perfect snack!

SOFT PRETZELS
found recipe on: While He Was Napping

1 Tbsp. Yeast
1/8 Cup Warm Water
1 1/3 Cups Warm Water
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
3 3/4 Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Salt

Dissolve yeast in 1/8 cup warm water. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. Kneed until smooth. (You can also throw the ingredients in the bread maker on the dough cycle, it’s easier and makes for a lot less arm work)Optional: Let dough rise in an ungreased bowl, uncovered, for 1 hour.Divide into 12 pieces and shape into pretzels.

Bring to a boil:

1 Quart Water
3 Tbsp. Baking Soda
3 Tsp. Sugar

Drop pretzel into boiling mixture and boil about 15 to 20 seconds on each side. Place on cookie sheet.Sprinkle with course sea salt.Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.  Keep an eye on them, the bottoms cook very fast!Dip in cheese sauce, marinara, or eat by themselves!

Enjoy!

Just pulled these little babies out of the oven! I made more than 12.. and made some with cinnamon/sugar on top instead of salt. Both version are to die for! My 18month old has a dairy, egg, sesame, and nut allergy and this is a totally safe option for him! I'm so excited for him to try them! Thanks for another great recipe!

i used whole wheat flour to try to make them a little healthier and get some extra fiber. still tasted great and were very filling. i had to stop after one...which is probably a good thing. will keep me from eating them all in one sitting. great recipe and will be using in the future for sure!

I made these last night with a homemade cheese sauce, they're awesome! In my opinion, they taste better than the ones you can buy at the mall. Thanks for a great recipe

This were delicous !! The only problem that I had was them sticking to the baking sheet. Maybe if it was sprayed with a little cooking spray it would'nt have stuck.
