Guest Blogger: Ginger

Hello everyone!  I will be back posting this week, but you have a couple more fabulous bloggers to hear from first!  I’ve got a little more cuddle time in store with my little man :) Today we get to hear from Ginger from Ginger Snap Crafts!  I am a HUGE fan of her blog and you will be too!  She has some amazing projects and is such a nice person!   Take it away Ginger!

I blog over at {Ginger Snap Crafts}. I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years. I love keeping a journal of my family, but I thought our family blog was getting a little overrun with all my craftiness. So, I decided it was time to part ways,& I started my very own craft blog. :) I hope to share ideas I’ve found, & inspire you to create along with me. {Hope you stop by & say hi!}

Today I’m going to share one of my family’s favorite recipes.My oldest daughter always request this cake for her birthday.

A friend at church gave me this recipe.It’s called Loretta Lynn’s Ooey Gooey Cake.{Not sure if it’s THE Loretta Lynn they came up with this or not!}

Either way it’s a keeper! :)

Loretta Lynn’s Ooey Gooey Cake

Ingredients:

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 jar caramel ice cream topping
8 oz. tub of Cool Whip
1 Heath bar, chopped

Bake cake as directed on box.Cook, but while still slightly warm- poke holes in cake with the end of a wooden spoon.Pour into holes- first the sweetened condensed milk and then caramel ice cream topping.Let cake set for awhile in the refrigerator.Just before serving top with 8 oz. of cool whip & sprinkle with the Heath bar pieces.{Enjoy!}

Thanks, Nikki for having me over.Best of luck with your new little one!

Congratulations!

If you make this recipe, snap a photo and hashtag it #chefintraining and/or #chefintrainingblog. I would love to see how these recipes take shape in your kitchens.

    I've made a cake similar to this. it's still called ooey gooey cake, but instead its whatever flavor of cake mix, a box of powdered sugar, a stick of butter, and 2 eggs for the bottom layer, and powdered sugar, an egg, and something else for the top layer. its delicious. we always had it at youth group events and it went really fast
