Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cake

This is a REALLY simple dessert, but it also looks pretty impressive served up! My birthday was this last thursday, and my ideal cake has anything to do with CHOCOLATE! I am a true chocolate loving girl so I decided this was the simple delicious cake that I wanted.

HOT FUDGE ICE CREAM CAKE:

you can EITHER:

use my favorite chocolate cake recipe (just the cake, not the frosting for this recipe),
or if you really want to take the easy route…which is what I did in this case, use a box of devil’s food cake mix

HOT FUDGE:

2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
toppings: whipped cream, cherries, nuts
block of vanilla ice cream

Make cake according to directions and pour into a cookie sheet pan.
Once cake is done, pull out and dust with sugar on top.  Let cool.
Once cake is completely cool, cut into squares.  Cut each square in half width way.
Place a square piece of ice cream in between the two layers.
Pour hot fudge onto each of the four corners.
Top with whipped cream, nuts, and cherry! A

ny extra hot fudge can be stored in a tupperware in the fridge for later use!It is so tasty and looks like it took a lot more work than it really did!

Enjoy!

This is my husbands favorite dessert and I'd love to make it for him But unless I over looked it, I don't see where the instructions are to make the hot fudge. Do you just melt the chocolate chips and add to the condensed milk and vanilla? Or does it have to boil for a certain amount of time. Thanks and love your blog :)
