Almond Cookies

This cookie is DIVINE! My mom invented this recipe and everyone who tries them  LOVES them!It definitely makes my top 5 favorite cookies of all time!

ALMOND COOKIES

½ c. butter
½ c. shortening
½ c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond extract
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2½ c. flour
1 bag white chocolate chips
1 bag sliced almonds

Beat butter, shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla, almond extract.  Add flour, salt, soda.  Stir in ¾ of the white chips.  Roll the cookie dough balls in almonds.  Spray pans.Bake at 375° 8-10 minMicrowave the remaining chips with 1 tsp. shortening.  Put in a small zip-lock bag and snip off tip; drizzle over baked cookies.

    What size bags of chocolate chips & almonds do you use?

    I made these cookies earlier and they are amazing! the only problem I had was the first batch the almonds on the top got a little over done. but i moved the rack down and they were fine =) awesome recipe though!
