I am SO excited to have Carrian from Sweet Basil here today to share a super easy but mouthwatering delicious recipe with all of us today. I adore Carrian and know you will, too. Her blog is filled with incredible recipes with equally gorgeous photos. I could spend all day there. Definitely be sure and check her out! I will let her take it away with todays delicious recipe…..

Hello Chef in Training readers!!! I’m Carrian and my husband and I write the site, Sweet Basil, a place devoted to reinventing family dinner and more recently a little health/fitness on the side. We are so excited to share this recipe for Disappearing S’more Croissants (am I the only one that says croissants with a french accent every time I see the word?) with all of you!

And let’s be honest, I feel a little weird throwing a photo of us up here, but I love seeing the picture of the bloggers I’m reading on other sites, so I thought you may want to put face with the name too. You’re welcome. Now let’s get back to the deliciousness.

Summertime gets a little crazy around here. I end up making things like, blackberry lime bars, Reese’s Crumble Bars, Deep Fried Peaches with Ice Cream (oh my gosh, best thing ever. Go. Make it. Thank me later) I’m not kidding, desserts flow during the summer. I already can’t wait to make our grilled strawberries and nutella pizzas again. So good!! I’m sure that I’m probably the only person like this, but summer happens to be the time of year that I eat the most desserts. Normally summer is when everyone is getting bathing suit ready, doing outdoor activities all the time, and eating lighter and healthier, but not me. Well, I guess that’s not true. Our meals do get a facelift. We grill more so we eat things like tcarne asada tacos (recipe is on the site), and we love all of the fresh veggies so we definitely enjoy healthier meals. But dessert. Dessert is my problem. Why do I make dessert more in the summer than any other time of year?

And let’s get real for a moment, I almost didn’t post this recipe, because it turned out so stinking delicious I wanted to use it on my own site, but I happen to adore sweet Nikki so much I decided to sacrifice a little because if she’s wonderful, her readers must be wonderful and I couldn’t hold back something as delicious as marshmallows, chocolate and croissants. I think I just drooled a little.

And these are super easy to make so when you get a hankering for something sweet you can whip these babies together in about 5 minutes, just throw chocolate and marshmallows in the croissant, roll it up, roll in butter and graham crackers and then bake them for about 12 minutes. Not bad eh?! Then when you pull them out the graham crackers crumbs are all golden and buttery just like a graham cracker should be and the inside, oh the inside!! It’s all chocolaty and although the marshmallow disappears you can totally taste it in every bite. It’s like this gooey pillow of deliciousness.

So, I guess that’s it and my time is up, but I’d sure love if you all would stop by and tell me what you thought of the cobbler.

You can find me at
Sweet Basil, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram (ohsweetbasil)

…………………….

Thank you so much Carrian for being here today!
Isn’t Carrian just amazing?! And don’t even get me started on these S’more Croissants! Those photos are making my mouth water profusely.

Carrian has SO many amazing recipes on her blog. Here are some of my favorites of hers:

Welcome back to this week’s Tuesday Talent Show.

I want to start off by sharing my thoughts and am sending my prayers to all those affected by the Oklahoma tornado today. Please send your prayers to them as well. Disasters like this are so difficult to hear about. I have been watching the news for the last few hours on and off to keep updated on the situation. My heart breaks for those who have lost loved ones, property, personal belongings and everything else that might have been taken during this disaster. I will continue to pray as warnings are still being issued for a good portion of the mid-west.

There are very few things in this world that I like better than Greek and Mexican food. Today, the emphasis is on Greek.

This crostini recipe is the perfect balance of delicious and refreshing. With so many fresh vegetables and flavors, this is one appetizer people will keep coming back for more of. I think I might have downed 4 or 5 myself, not even lying!

It is like a mini Greek Salad with some tzatziki sauce and crisp bread. Can we talk about tzatziki sauce for a minute?… Is there a more refreshing sauce? That would be a negative in my opinion. Every time I partake of that creamy cucumber-y goodness, my taste buds are filled with complete satisfaction. Paired with other greek flavors, and this may be an award winning appetizer! Seriously, its one of my new favorites!

Enjoy!
