Sweet Potato Wedges with Honey Chipotle Dipping Sauce
These Sweet Potato Wedges are SO yummy and the Honey Chipotle Dipping Sauce is the PERFECT compliment! They are savory and absolutely incredible!
It is Sweet Potato season and I love it! I usually am found making my BEST EVER SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE, which is absolutely delicious! But every now and then its fun to change up the way you enjoy certain foods.
This recipe is on the savory side and let me tell you, IT. IS. FABULOUS! Lets talk about the Honey Chipotle Dipping Sauce for just a second. The sweet slightly heated flavor is the absolute perfect compliment to the seasoned sweet potato wedges. Chipotle seasoning is one of my personal favorite seasonings. So its no wonder why I love this dipping sauce so much ;)
These disappeared so fast! Everyone had nothing but the highest of praises about them. I cannot wait to make them again! :)

- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- ½ teaspoon sage
- ½ teaspoon basil
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- ¼ teaspoon chipotle seasoning
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Line cookie sheet with foil.
- Peel potatoes. Cut the potatoes in half and then in half again and depending how large they are half again. Spread potatoes over the cookie sheet.

- Using a pastry brush, brush oil mixture all over the potatoes. Toss the potatoes to make sure they are evenly coated.
- Bake for 35 minutes at 450 degrees F and then turn the broiler on to high and bake for about another 3 to 4 minutes or until crispy.
- Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Enjoy!

What exactly is 'chipotle' for the 1/4 tsp chipotle? Is it a dry spice? I only know of canned chipotle peppers.
Chef in Training
its the chipotle seasoning found in the spice section. Hope that helps :)

I've made these sweet potato wedges several times now, and I want you to know how much I LOVE them! I seriously go ga-ga for them and that delicious sauce! I would much rather eat these than French fries. So delish! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

35 mins on 450 is way too long! I checked mine around the 25 minute mark and they seemed to be doing fine, so I kept following the recipe. However when I took them out 10 minutes later they were black!! I was super disappointed and what a waste of perfectly good sweet potatoes!

i'm making these tomorrow I'm so excited!

If I have "chipotle chili pepper" would that work ok?
Susan
I made these last night and they were so good! I think we need to cut the wedges a little smaller (many were not very crisp) and I added a bit more chipotle seasoning than the recipe called for.

One tablespoon of salt way way too much for us, I'd cut it in half next time and let people salt their own if they want.
Susan
These were so good! I wish the wedges were a little crispier, next time I will cut them smaller to see if that helps.

So good! I have been looking for an easy sweet potato fry recipe. I did cut bake time to 25 minutes and they were perfect. I also used Sriracha instead of chipotle seasoning just because I didn't have any but will look at the store for it next time I go. Thanks!

This is the only way that I will eat Sweet Potatoes. I use the Japanese Sweet Potatoes (their my favorite)
