Tuesday Talent Show #52

Can I just say how happy I am it is the start of a new week?! :)

Goodness… this week has been a little nuts here at my home.  Excuse my moment of sharing but I figure maybe some of you parents can relate to chaos at times :) Do you just ever have moments as a parent where you feel like the world is just crashing in on you… that would be me this last week.  My little boy has hardly slept a wink in a week and a half.  This means I probably have only gotten two hours of sleep a night the last week and a half. He is also teething so I thought it was in part to that…I finally took him in on Saturday only to find out he has a double ear infection :( Poor baby.  Then yesterday, we were at my parents house just enjoying dinner and my 3-year-old little girl took a good spill down the stairs and knocked back two of her front teeth to the roof of her mouth and some good damage to her lips and gums.

After a doctor visit for both kids and one dentist visit, I am happy to say we are doing better and her mouth will hopefully be fine.  They haven’t pulled the teeth or repositioned them, for now they are just going to wait it out and see what happens.  I will say… the Disney Junior show, Doc McStuffins, probably the best show to make kids comfortable with the doctor.  She did amazing considering her trauma and kept singing the theme song, “Time for your Check-Up”.  It was adorable despite the stress of the situation :)

Needless to say this tired and stressed mama is ready to kick back her legs, put the babies in bed and see what you all have been up to this week.  Seriously, I cannot wait to get started!

  1. What a rough week! I’m sorry for all the stress you have endured. I hope both of your kiddos are on their way to recovery :( I’m glad you managed a post in the midst of chaos.. It’s one of my weekly highlights.

  2. Oh, my! It sounds like you’ve had a hard week! I hope this coming week will be SO much better for you. As a mommy of a 1 year old and a 3 year old, I can totally relate!

  3. Gosh Nikki, I’m so sorry your week has been anything but relaxing! Chaos comes and goes, but it does always seem to come all at once unfortunately :( sounds like you’re handling it well, despite the lack of sleep and all the trauma! Good for you, strong girl! :) I hope that once the kids get fixed up, you’ll be able to kick your feet up and relax! Thanks for hosting, doll :)

  4. I’m sorry you had such a rough week last week. I would be glad it’s a new week, too! I feel ya on the teething baby thing …. I am in the same boat! I totally would have freaked out about the stairs :/ I pray you have a much better week this week! Thank you so much for hosting!

  5. I’m sorry to hear about your stressful week! When I was two years old or so, I was jumping on my parents’ bed and fell between the bed and the nightstand. The only thing to break my fall was my mouth clamping down on the table… and my two front baby teeth were shoved up into my gums. Needless to say, my mother was a wreck and my father passed out in the dentist’s office! I later took a spill while tap dancing on top of the toilet in my mom ‘s high heels… knocked those same teeth right out and wore a false tooth for a while. You’re definitely not alone in those moments of parenting struggles! And just maybe hearing what a maniac I was will give you a smile for the day. ;)

Thanks for hosting and hope your week gets better!

  6. Mandy

I am so excited to see my Slurpees featured! I hope your babies get feeling better, poor things! Go relax (if you have a moment) and read a good book.

Hugs to you! Sometimes when I look back over the various mishaps, illnesses that occur with three children I am amazed any of us survived. lol Everyone did.

  7. Wow Nikki, you poor thing! What a week. Your poor little mites. I can’t imagine just how stressed you must’ve been this week with all that has happened. I remember always getting ear infections myself as a child and they’re no fun at all but a set to match?! And your poor little baby taking a tumble. Sounds like you need a big hug, a good old English cuppa, some shortbread to dunk in your cuppa, and a grownup chat. I’d offer this to you but that’d mean a 6-7 hour flight for you across that pond. I’ve also been stressing terribly about my eldest daughter being sent off to high school for the first time and worrying like mad. I really hope your babies are healing and getting better.

Thanks so much for featuring my english coconut macaroons. That means the world to me to have them featured as I’ve only been baking for 10 months now, so thank you so very much. Thanks again for hosting such a great link party.
