I absolutely love pretzels!
Sweet or salty, they always taste delicious!
I recently stumbled across this recipe from While He Was Napping and fell in love!
They are pretty simple to make and my family gobbled them up!
And who wouldn't love that they are fat-free?! The perfect snack!

SOFT PRETZELS
found recipe on: While He Was Napping
- 1 Tbsp. Yeast
- 1/8 Cup Warm Water
- 1 1/3 Cups Warm Water
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 3 3/4 Cups Flour
- 1 Tsp. Salt
Dissolve yeast in 1/8 cup warm water.
Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.
Kneed until smooth.
(You can also throw the ingredients in the bread maker on the dough cycle, it's easier and makes for a lot less arm work)
Optional: Let dough rise in an ungreased bowl, uncovered, for 1 hour.
Divide into 12 pieces and shape into pretzels.
Bring to a boil:
- 1 Quart Water
- 3 Tbsp. Baking Soda
- 3 Tsp. Sugar
Place on cookie sheet.
Sprinkle with course sea salt.
Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, the bottoms cook very fast!
Dip in cheese sauce, marinara, or eat by themselves!
