Strawberry Frozen Dessert

This recipe reminds me of my grandma. It comes from her cookbook and she would make it all the time for us!It is pretty simple to make!

STRAWBERRY FROZEN DESSERT

Crumbled Crust:

1 cup flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup melted butter

Mix together.
Spread over 9×13 pan.
Bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes. Do not burn. Light brown is done. Once done, Stir to break up. Let cool completely.
Put 2/3 of the crumbled crust mixture on the bottom of pan and reserve rest for topping.

Strawberry Mixture:

2 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
10 oz. thawed frozen strawberries
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
14 ounces cool whip

Beat strawberry mixture on low speed until thickened (about 2 minutes)
Fold in Cool whip.
Spoon evenly over 2/3 of cooled crumbled crust.
Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture on top.
Freeze.
Serve Frozen!
Enjoy!

Strawberries will be ripening soon in our area and the lightness of this dessert would be a perfect ending to a meal. XOXO

another super easy way of making this, or at least something close... the mixture: 8oz cool whip, block of cream cheese, 1 box any flavor jello (using the powder, not the completed jello) mix together and put into a graham cracker crust, super easy and ppl love it. I have tried strawberry, lime and orange!!!
