Homemade Creamed Corn

This is by far one of my favorite side dishes!

I made this last night for our little dinner party, it disappeared within a matter of minutes! It is creamy and DELICIOUS and makes a great side dish for almost any meal!

HOMEMADE CREAMED CORN

20 oz. frozen corn
1/2 pint whipping cream
8 oz. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. accent
1 shake white pepper
6 tsp sugar

Combine all ingredients into a large saucepan.  Stir to combine.  Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

In a small saucepan, melt 2 Tbsp. of butter.  Once butter is melted, stir in 2 Tbsp. of flour to make a roux. Let the roux cook for a minute or two, stirring constantly.

Add roux to corn mixture. Stir in thoroughly.  Cook corn mixture a couple of additional minutes, stirring constantly until it has thickened up.

Enjoy!
