Died and Gone to Heaven

This can also be referred to as a chocolate trifle, but to my mom and me… it is better known as, “Died and Gone to Heaven.”

This dessert is WONDERFUL! It whips up pretty easy and everyone who eats it will think you spent forever making it!  It truly tastes like heaven!

Died and Gone to Heaven aka Chocolate Brownie Trifle… this is a chocolate lover's dream!

My grandma has been making something like this for years and we call it Death by chocolate! Sooo good! Only we soak our brownies in Kaluha when they first come out of the oven!

  54. Bobbi

May I use your pictures on Pinterest?Thank you!

  55. Kylie

I make this with Reese's peanut butter cups- amazing!!!!

  56. Melissa

This looks delish - just wondering though do you fold in the whole 14 oz can of condensed milk in with the cool whip or only a little bit? Making this for dessert this weekend. Thanks in advance for your response!

  57. Andy

I know it by the name of Death by Chocolate. I add Kahlua to the brownies when they come out of the oven.
Also instead of pudding I use 2 boxes of Moose. I know there is two flavor choices, maybe more. I also add the Heath or Skor pieces in between each layer. Brownies, Moose, Candy Pieces, Cool Whip, and repeat it.

    Great Dessert !

  58. kamme

this is a copy of the original "DEATH BY CHOCOLATE, been around for years!!!

    1. Vicki

Death By Chocolate is made exactly the same way, I agree with you!

  59. Vicki

Where did your print button go?????? Don't you want us to print your recipes out and try them??????!!!!!!!!

    1. Chef in Training

I apologize. My last print plug in is no longer available and I am working hard and fast to get another one installed. If you just copy and paste the recipe into a word doc, you can bypass printing the comments. Hoping to get this issue resolved asap. Thanks for your patience.

We make this for many occasions. It is frequently my niece's birthday cake request. We call it "Death by Chocolate" and add a little Kahlua to the Brownies (poking holes in the brownie so the Kahlua goes all the way through!) after baking. We also use about 8 heath bars and put half on each layer of cool whip. Heavenly is right!

  61. isra

What can i use instead of choclate.pudding mix.plz ans on

WOW! This was awesome and so delicious. It did taste like Snickers. My family at our Thanksgiving gathering really craved over it. I will definitely make it again. Thank you. I liked how the different layers looked on the sides of the bowl.
